Are you this man - unknown, uninvited, unexpected? Were you the perfect stranger in the suit, standing there, in the gallery - maybe smiling?

What could your eyes see? What was in your mind? Were you enjoying the view? What were you thinking about? Were you recalling something? Were you waiting for somebody?

I met a perfect stranger for the first time on Monday, January 16th, 2012, about midnight. They say sometimes, you're not aware of what you're needing until somebody else shows it to you; sometimes, you don't know you were missing something, until you happen to find it in a perfect stranger.

I dedicate this blog to my perfect stranger. Diego, Max, Jurgen - whatever your name is and whoever you might be, all I can say to you now is: «Enchantée. Thank you for meeting me, too. My pleasure.»

New letter from Vanity

My dear Max,

I'm not sure this letter will reach you, but anyway, I had to try. I just wanted to apologise again for leaving so soon and without a single explanation. The truth is, Charly and I had to talk about us. What can I say?, I've finally signed away the deed. It was a hard thing to do, but I had to do it... Period.

Surely you can imagine how upset Dad was - well, that's his issue, not mine! However, I'm happy to share that Daddy finally understood I just can't get married under pressure. It seems we're smoking the pipes of peace now. (Actually, Dad is smoking his pipe, and I'm secretly enjoying one of my beloved Virginia Slims... Shhh! Don't tell Daddy!)

I'll be back in NY tomorrow morning, Max. This time, I'm travelling on board the SS United States. Not as almightly or sophisticated as the RMS Queen Elizabeth or the RMS Queen Mary, but - well, the truth is, I've just fallen in love with an actor (he's very famous, and he's younger than me), and I want to enjoy his company during the journey across the ocean. He's got a major role in the play "Strangers On A Train". I fell in love with him the minute he looked into my eyes! Ahhh! (I'm gasping! He really takes my breath away!)

Wish me a good trip, Max. I'm looking forward to hearing from you again.

All the best,

PS: I love the SS United States' horn, although I must admit I prefer RMS QE's lovely whistle (it's sweeter - definitely).
